Carl
(Mike) Fallos, age 74, passed away on March 21, 2010, due to
respiratory failure (COPD) after a silent heart attack. He
was residing at Emerald Groves Central assisted living
facility in Mesa, AZ.
A Memorial service will be
11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at
Roseberry�s Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Friendship WI,
53934. Pastor Sam Downey will officiate. Friends may call at
Roseberry�s on Saturday, April 10th from 10 a.m.
until the time of service.
Carl was born on May 23,
1935 in Dellwood, WI in the home of Willie and Rubye Fallos.
He attended one-room rural schools. His first job as a young
teenager was delivering diary products for VanAlstines Dairy
in Adams, WI. He enlisted in the Air Force in January of
1953, and served as a telegrapher during the Korean
conflict, until his honorable discharge in January of 1957.
He was employed at the Chicago Northwestern Railroad station
in Adams, WI as a telegrapher. He was also active on his
parent�s farm, and along with his brothers, cutting pulp to
help earn a living.
He was married to Sally
Mercord and had three children, Ruth, Mike and John. During
their marriage, Carl work for Greyhound bus, and often spoke
of the time he drove the Green Bay Packers, and met head
coach Vince Lombardi. He also drove for Twin City Lines bus,
and then went into driving the big rigs. He was employed as
a truck driver for Castlerock Container. He retired in June,
1997 from Dahlen Transport out of Newport, MN. He resided in
River Falls, WI.
Due to complications from
Diabetes, he resided in American Heritage Care Center in
Hammond, WI from June 2009 to January 2010, then became a
Mesa, AZ resident, and enjoyed the warm weather and daily
family visits. He made friends with the residents and staff
of both care centers, and will be missed by all.
To welcome Carl into heaven
are his parents Willie and Rubye, as well as Sally�s parents
Ruth and Barnes Mercord, son John, brothers Claude and Bill,
sister Annette Rundle, nephews Brian Rundle, Mike Einechner,
and nieces Kelly (Fallos) Landowski and Karen Koivisto.
He his survived by ex-wife
Sally, whom he�ll love forever, daughter Ruth (Gary) Schultz
of Mesa, AZ, son Michael Fallos of Glenwood City, WI,
sisters Isabelle (Paul) George of Adams, WI, Paula (John)
Klein of Friendship, WI, Carol (Allan) Einechner of
Milwaukee, WI, Gloria (Ray) Bahl of Horn Lake, MS, Dorothy
Koivisto of Superior, WI and Norma (Richard) Cekan of
Friendship, WI.
We are so sad to see him
leave, but are happy that he is in a better place with no
suffering and pain. We all love him so much and will see him
someday!
