James (Jim)
Kenneth Wiese, age 74, of Grand Marsh, Wis. went home to be
with the Lord and his beloved wife, Shirley on Monday, March
8, 2010.
Visitation and
Memorial Services will be held at United Presbyterian Church
in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation
with family and friends will be Friday, March 12 from
10:00-11:00am, with the Memorial Service immediately
following. Pastor
Steve Keller will be officiating.
Jim was born
on August 19, 1935 in Chicago, Ill. to Irvin and Eula
Wiese. He was
one of four children, with brother Irvin, Jr., and sister,
Betty preceding him in death and sister Judy of Seattle,
Wash. Jim was
joined in marriage to Shirley (Needham) on June 4, 1955 and
raised three children: twin sons Todd James and Douglas
John, and daughter Carol Jean.
Jim met his
beloved Shirley at the young age of 18 and they were married
shortly thereafter. Jim
spent several years in the Army stationed throughout Georgia
and then he and Shirley settled down in the Madison area to
start their family and begin his long career in the
telephone communications industry. He
then moved his family to the Wisconsin Dells area where he
enjoyed life fully for many years, continuing and eventually
retiring from his long career with General Telephone, Co.
For the last
several years, Jim had been battling the devastating effects
of Alzheimer�s disease and was being cared for by the
wonderful staff at Clearview Long Term Care and
Rehabilitation in Juneau, Wis.
Jim is
survived by son Todd Wiese (Dawn); son Doug (Molly) Wiese;
daughter Carol Wiese; eight grandchildren; three great
grandchildren and sister, Judy (Jeff) Frew. He
will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends.
