Harold was born July 30, 1919 in Arkdale, Wisconsin to
Robert and Caroline (Nordlee) Rierson. He went to North
Dakota for work in 1938-39, during that time he met his
future wife. He married Agatha Christine Voeller on October
23, 1945 in Balta, North Dakota. After returning to
Wisconsin, he worked for Ginter Brothers and then on the
Petenwell and Castle Rock Dam construction projects. Harold
began working for the Adams County Highway Department in

later retiring from the Highway Dept. in 1983. After
retirement, he remained active working around home and
helping friends and neighbors as long as he was able.
Harold enjoyed hunting, gardening and working in his shop on
woodworking and other projects and devising ways to make
work around his home easier. He was especially proud of his
ability to speak and understand Norwegian. He enjoyed
telling stories about the "old days" and about the work he
had done through his life. Harold and his "little dog
Penny" were constant companions.
Harold was a member of the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.
