Robert A. Kissinger

Robert A. Kissinger, age 82, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family under the care of Compassus Hospice. He was born on February 15, 1941, to the late Joseph and Lucille (Mayer) Kissinger in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Bob graduated from Waukesha High School with the class of 1959. He met and married his first wife of 24 years Penny (Steckling). With that union they had two children, Chad and Todd Kissinger. After her passing, he married Jean, a long time friend. Bob and Jean were married April 15, 1989, in the city of Waukesha and resided in the Town of Rome and Arkdale after retirement. Bob served in the Army and received an honorable discharge in 1967. He worked for Bielinski Home Builders, building homes then TJ Hale as a foreman remodeling Kohl’s Department Stores. Bob was President of the Lake Sherwood Lodge in the Town of Rome for a few years then after moving to the Town of Monroe served as the Supervisor for 18 years. He volunteered his time with the Department of Aging of Adams County. In his earlier years he enjoyed and taught line dancing with his wife Jean. A few of his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, raising small farm animals, cutting wood, puzzles, volunteering his time, but most of all loved having family around and shared many stories of his days growing up and his love for horses, one named Cactus and another Rocky. He said he wanted to be a cowboy and go West but found himself comfortable in the woods and loved watching the birds and deer. He could be found on his John Deere tractor many times, and would always find a way to drive it through the woods and check out the hunting stands. He was very involved with his family and was so proud of them. Bob is remembered as a gentle, kind, big hearted, giving man with a strong faith in God. He was a member of Lake Area Christian Fellowship in the Town of Rome. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
