
Ada Main Petersen
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. John Krebs will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m until the time of service on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Ada was born September 12, 1928 in Poynette, Wisconsin to Floyd Raymond and Myrtle Marie (Wilson) Allen. She married Jarvis Main on June 6, 1947, in Arkdale, Wisconsin. This marriage was blessed with three children. Ada worked at Adams County Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid for many years. Later she worked as a home health aid for Adams County.
Ada enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets and traveling with Jarvis in their travel trailer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ada’s dog Mazie was her faithful companion.
Ada was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid for Immanuel, Adams County Historical Society.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Myrtle Allen; husband, Jarvis Main; 2nd Husband, Gilbert Petersen; step-siblings; Cleve Brozek, Earl Brozek, Sylvia Janowicz, Lloyd Allen, Vivian Schroeder and Viva Nash

Daughter: Helen (Jim) Hintz of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Son: Robert (Ramona) Main of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Daughter: Connie Hermann of Phoenix, Arizona
Grandchild: Jim (Beth) Hintz Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Cristin (Mark) Mueller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Adam (Lisa) Main of New Richmond, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Rebecca Main of St. Paul, Minnesota

What an angel! She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She gave so much of herself with visits, favors and just offering encouragement. We need more people like her with spunk, faith and encouragement. I have known her since I was a little girl and will truly miss her. Prayers and hugs to you all.
Sorry to hear of Ada’s passing, she was a great lady she would come to see the horses all the time and bring them treats, we would talk a lot about where things were at in the world today,
She was a blessing to our family and must have been sent by God as shortly after her and Gilbert got married he had a massive stroke and she was there for the 8yrs until he passed … Thank You Ada for all you did and all you were..

To Ada’s family, you have lost a dear lady. A true Saint. She always gave and asked nothing in return, always had a smile and always a helping hand. We visited quite often when she came into my work always to show kindness and offer help to someone. Peace to all of you.

I loved when she brought me chicken on Sundays & we would visit & she would tell me many amazing stories………………. I liked going over to her place & visiting outside & watching her doggie. I am sending prayers and hugs to the family I would like to say she is gonna be missed by many I miss her and I was sad to see her leave our place when she left but the move was to be closer to her family so I understood that she was a wonderful woman and always smiling and was very talkative she always talk to the other residents and was fun to watch at times when she smiled and laughed RIP MISS ADA I’m gonna miss you but I won’t forget you.
Ada was a wonderful person. So helpful and I enjoyed talking about antiques with her. My prayers are with you all.

I’m sorry to hear of Adas passing. She was always a great neighbor and she wanted my kids to call her granny, and to this day they still refer to her as granny.
