Albert Bastean, age 89, of Adams Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Albert was born April 9th, 1932, in Quincy, IL. to Albert and Elizabeth (Musholt) Bastean Sr. On October 30, 1954, he wed the love of his life Mary Jo Peddie at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Madison, IN.
Albert was raised and educated in Quincy IL prior to serving in the United States Army. Formerly of Quincy and Chicago, IL., he later moved with his family to Round Lake IL., where they resided for many years before moving to Adams, WI. Throughout the years Albert worked as a bus driver and clerk for the Chicago Transit Authority supporting his growing family until retirement. He enjoyed camping with his family, attending boat races, playing cards with his brothers and brothers-in-law, and watching his favorite TV show’s MASH and How It’s Made and enjoying lemon desserts.
Albert is survived by four children, Scott William Bastean of Ingleside, Kathleen (Victor) Suberla of Adams, WI, Steven (Cindy) Bastean of Trevor, WI, Todd Robert Bastean of Ingleside; 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Michael, Crystal, Susan, Nicole, Jorden, Amanda, Kyle, Baylee, Steven M., Marissa, Melissa, Corey; Numerous great-grandchildren; siblings Robert Bastean of Quincy, IL, Florence (John) Harmon of Quincy, Thomas Bastean of Pekin, IL and Bernard “Butch” (Mary) Bastean of Quincy, IL.; brothers-in-law, Paul Kirby Peddie Mentor OH, James William (Paula) Peddie of Orlando, FL, Richard (Toi) Peddie of Ml, David (Barbara) Peddie of Madison, IN.
In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Mary Jo (Peddie), son, Kevin Michael Bastean, daughter, Barbara Ann Bastean and sister Susanne (Wasson).
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life at a later date. For those wishing to send an expression of sympathy, his family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
