I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Alma’s passing. I am the daughter of Rex and Thelma McChesney. I remember fondly so much time spent with the family, celebrating Christmas or just a Sunday afternoon. Sadly, as time has gone on, I have lost all contact with my cousins. I hope someone would be interested in contacting me. I live in Milwaukee. I loved to listen to Aunt Alma talk and tell stories. And her roses were so beautiful. I hadn’t seen her in very many years, but the last visit was very happy with a houseful of relatives. I have a picture of that day. I will think of it and her often.
Even though we didn’t spend much time together and weren’t the closest of relatives, I loved you very much grandmother and I will miss you very much. So many people loved you and commented on how strong and feisty you were, even up to the end. I know you are giving the angels a run for their money while visiting with all your friends that have gone before you.
May your smile shine down on us till we meet you again in the light.

Grandma, thank you for all the wonderful memories and spending time with us grandkids. We will always have great memories of spending time with you and grandpa when we were little. Hopefully we can all carry on some of your strength. You will be missed but I know you are now with other members of our family and taking care of them.
Gram, you gave us all so much to look to and look up to. Your quiet strength was something I will always admire, and even if I didn’t get your green thumb I got your fondness for the written word, which has worked out pretty well. I was so lucky to have spent a lot of time with you growing up, and most recently to have seen you that one last time, to give you a hug and say ‘I love you’.
To sort of paraphrase (and completely compromise the meaning of) an old song,”If you can’t be with the ones who love you, love the ones you’re with”, because there are a lot up there to greet you happily. Crochet away, run and have fun, and I’ll see ya sometime.
xx
