Alvin “Wayne” Engelrup, age 75, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away on May 26, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI surrounded by his family and friends after losing his long battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Adams Trinity Congregational Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. Richard Corning will officiate.
Wayne was born October 13, 1936 in Mankato, Minnesota to Alvin William and Dorene (Cornwell) Engelrup.
He married Willa Zabel in 1958, they had three daughters, Kim, Carmen & Willayne. They later divorced in 1985. In 1990 he married Alice Lamson who died in 2002 of cancer. In 2003 he married Carole McIntyre who died in 2005 also of cancer.
Wayne was a self-employed truck driver for 35 years and retired in 2000.
He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, fishing, camping, and casinos. He was an avid card player and prior to his illness was active with the local Lion’s Club.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Engelrup; mother, Dorene Cornwell-Engelrup; 2nd wife, Alice Engelrup & 3rd wife, Carole McIntyre-Engelrup.
Survivors include his daughters: Kimberly (Steve) Huper of Wells, Minnesota; Carmen (Kevin) Meyer of Mankato, Minnesota; and Willayne (Pat) McLean of St. Peter, Minnesota; brother, Dwight (Sharon) Engelrup of White, Georgia; sister, Jean Trowbridge of Wenatalee, Washington; brother, Tom Engelrup of LeCenter, Minnesota; Grandchildren: Matt (Sara) Huper of Lake Crystal, Minnesota; Josh Huper of Wells, Minnesota; Megan Huper of Mankato, Minnesota; Jon & Brad Moore of Mankato, Minnesota; Brandon & Jillayne McLean of St. Peter, Minnesota; Great Grandchildren:
Makayla, Madison, & Kaiden Huper of Lake Crystal, Minnesota; special friends: Jim and Ellen Casebeer of Friendship, Wisconsin; step-mother, Evelyn Engelrup of Le Center, Minnesota; and first-wife, Willa Engelrup of Mankato, Minnesota. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
