Andrew John Ritchie, age 64, of Arkdale, Wisconsin died Thursday August 22, 2013 at the Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Military honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.

Andy was born September 19, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Julia (Repta) Ritchie. He graduated from A-F High School in 1966. Andy served in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving two tours. He was awarded a Bronze Star and multiple Purple Hearts. Andy returned to Wisconsin and lived in De Forest, where he worked for Madison Truck. He married Linda Kirchner in 1972. They had their daughter, Trisha before moving to Adams. Andy began working for the Adams County Highway Dept. in June of 1977 as a truck mechanic until his retirement in 2004. He worked for DCM Landscaping since his retirement.

Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and more bass fishing.

Andy was a member of the Wisconsin Bass Federation, serving as the State Tournament Director for several years.

Memorials may be directed to the Castle Rock Bass Masters Youth Club.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Julia Ritchie; sister, Sandra Tolley; and nephew, Derek Tolley.

Brother: George (Wendy) Ritchie of Adams, Wisconsin
Nephew: Tyler Ritchie of La Crosse, Wisconsin
Niece: Samantha Turnmire of Tomah, Wisconsin
Nephew: Darren (Georgette) Tolley of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Brother-in-law: Dennis (Karen) Tolley of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Further survived by other relatives and many friends.

    I played slowpitch softball with Andy 30 years ago. Our team typically had an uphill battle for wins, but Andy was always competitve. With a win or loss, he understood it was only a game and there were more important things in life. Andy was a good man. My deepest condolences to the entire family.
