Ann Theresa Verdict Howland lived the life of a devout Catholic who had a wonderful sense of humor and filled many with the love in her heart. I will truly miss her. Thank you all once again….And may God rest her soul in peace and eternal happiness..Her son Terry………………..

  2. Margaret de Pereiro says:

    Dear Howland Family,
It has been my pleasure to know dear “Annie” for many, many years. In more recent years, I’ve sat next to her in St. Joseph Church choir where we had many nice, up-lifting chats after Mass. She always had a sweet smile and nice things to say. A few years ago, she told me she wanted me to list her house. That was a difficult decision for her as she loved that house with its lake view. About three years passed and she still wasn’t ready to list. Finally, I retired from selling real estate before she made up her mind to put it on the market! But, I was there to introduce her to the agent who did list it for her.
When “Annie” was in Villa Pines, I visited her on several occasions and learned that she had great faith and trust in the Lord. Because we had longer times to talk at Villa Pines, I learned how well she knew our faith. I did not know, until reading her obituary, that she attended Catholic school in Winona. What a wonderful education she had there and at St. Stanislaus Church.
In my date book, I had flagged September 25, 2015 as her 96th birthday so that I would be able to send her a special birthday card as she always was happy to have the choir send her cards and sing “Happy Birthday” on her special day. (It is interesting that she and Don were married on her 21st birthday in 1940.) Now, on the very eve of her special day of September 25th, we will be celebrating her life in this world as well as her arrival in heaven — “Annie’s” eternal home!
I am certain that she has a wonderful family and I look forward to meeting many of you on Thursday. Love and blessings to you all, Margaret de Pereiro
