Anna Mae “Hootie” Elgan, age 91, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Liberty Manor in Adams, Wisconsin.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation burial will be at the Lake Street Memorial Park, Elgin, Illinois at a later date.
Anna was born November 27, 1923 in Shattuc, Illinois to George and Verna (Kramlich) DeWitt.
She graduated from Morton High School in Berwyn, Illinois.
Anna married Arthur Lee Elgan on July 18, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois.
She was a cook for School District U-46 in Elgin.
Anna enjoyed spending time with her children and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Verna DeWitt; husband, Arthur Elgan; son, Dennis Elgan and sisters, Mildred Maisto & Edith DeWitt.

Son: David (Catherine) Elgan of Adams, Wisconsin
Daughter: Verna (James) Sheppard of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Daughter: Deidre Jerding of Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: Sean, Meghan, Conor, Patrick, Joshua, Frederick, Matthew & Brittany
Five great-grandchidren
Brother: Lester “Bud” DeWitt of Florida

I used to know a George Dewitt that used to work for my dad Alva Rathermel when they were clearing for Petenwell Lake he was a good hearted man , he is probably gone by now. Your family has my sympathy.
