Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father Francis Dias will officiate.
Interment will be at a later date at the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.
Bernice was born September 12, 1925 in Campbellsport, Wisconsin to Edward and Mary Mueller. She was raised on the family farm with her seven siblings. She married Lawrence Robert Herbst on October 12, 1943. They made their home in Adams, Wisconsin. She was often times a single mother, raising eight children as Lawrence served his country for 20 years with many tours overseas. Anyone that knew Bernice knew she was she was the rock of her family and loved unconditionally.
Bernice loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing bingo, polka dancing, caring for her pets.
Bernice was an avid member of the VFW Post #6279, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Mueller; husband, Lawrence Herbst; son, Lawrence Herbst Jr.; brother, Eddie; sisters: Alice, Marge, Dolores, and Lorraine; sons-in-law: Dan D’Eon and Pete Mahoney; daughter-in-law, Debbie Herbst; and grandsons: Jeffrey Herbst and Todd Van Tassel.

She was the love of our life and will be greatly missed. Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Villa Pines who took care of her for the last six years, she thought of them as family.
