Carol M. Gutenberg

Carol M. Gutenberg, age 75, of Friendship, Wisconsin for upwards of forty years, died April 9, 2012 at the Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin.  Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1826 Hwy 13, Friendship, Wisconsin.  David Lay will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Interment will be at the Valhalla Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin at a later date.

Carol was born June 8, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Harold and Mary (Kullman) Brunow. She graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee.  Carol married James Gutenberg on June 19, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 46th St. & Glendale Ave.

As a young teenager, Carol learned of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice as well as God’s Kingdom and all its marvelous blessings from God’s Word, the Bible.  Soon she was baptized and was enthusiastically sharing this knowledge  that Christians have with others in the public ministry, a work Jesus commissioned his followers to do.  Later, she met and fell in love with fellow believer, James Gutenberg.  Their marriage union was blessed with a son and a daughter, who they successfully helped rear to be God fearing disciples of Jesus Christ.  Many hours each month the family engaged in the preaching and disciple making work.  This living faith has resulted in some rejection, but also unbelievable joy, in seeing new believers make Jehovah God their best friend and rely on His sure promises.  Many Adams County residents may remember her smiling face as she came to share the Good News of God’s Kingdom with them.  Carol’s voice is now silent.  As Jesus stated, she is sleeping in death.  He also stated that Jehovah God, is a God of the living, not of the dead, when referring to other deceased worshipers of His.  Like them, Caro hoped in a resurrection at God’s appointed time and is not dead in God’s eyes.  Now in His perfect memory, she is awaiting, the full benefits of God’s kingdom, including a future resurrection here on a perfectly restored paradise earth, where death, pain and wickedness will be gone forever.  In that paradise, friends and family, the world over, will be reunited with unending life in view.  Although Carol could only speak English, this life changing Good News of the Kingdom is being continuously proclaimed daily in over 430 languages worldwide by millions of devoted Christians just like her.  Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is truly missed now.  We continue to grieve as we await her return with great anticipation.  We share her hope.  We love her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Mary Brunow; sister, Barbara Abrahamson; Mother in law,  Evelyn Gutenberg; Father in law, Andrew C. Gutenberg;
