Carol May Wintersteen

wintersteen-webCarol May Wintersteen, age 74, of Baraboo (formerly of Wisconsin Dells), Wisconsin died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Greenbriar Assisted Living Facilities in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Corbin will officiate.

Carol was born September 08, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to LaMar Francis and Pearl Irene (Werner) Wintersteen. She graduated high school from Bayview High School in Milwaukee Wisconsin and married Bill Prust in 1962 and had two sons with him. Her life’s pursuit was always helping others with jobs like baking, a dietician at a hospital, and a seamstress in a uniform department. Carol also took care of her mother for several years when she became ill. This helpfulness also carried over into her personal life as well. She enjoyed gardening and making sure the neighborhood birds were well fed. Over the years many people received hand made Christmas ornaments from her. She was also a Sunday School teacher earlier in her life and played a role in designing the symbol for the United Methodist Church.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, LaMar and Pearl Wintersteen and step-mother Ellen Wintersteen.

Son: Kenneth Prust of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Sister: Marjorie Juno of Tomahawk, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Jacob Prust of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
