Charles F. Atkins

papaCharles F. Atkins died on February 18th 2016 at Villa Pines in Friendship Wisconsin. He was 91 years old.

Charles was born on November 4th 1924 in Detroit Michigan.

Chuck served in the 3rd Armor Division in world war 2 under General Patton. He was nicknamed “Peep sight” by his military brothers.

Chuck loved camping and fishing, he would travel to the south every year with family, those were the best times for him. Chuck was planning one last trip to the Smokey Mountains. He never made it there in life, but I know he made it there in spirit.

Preceded in death by his wife and one true love Carol “granny” Atkins, his parents, his step daughter and many other family members.

Chuck is survived by his daughter Susan Dutton of Waterman, Illinois,
Grandchildren, Kim Hayes and family, Robert Oltean and family, Teresa Furman and family, Jamie Askin and family, Ramona Lubbers and family, Robin Robbins and family, Tammy Stiemke and family Buster Weathers and family.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Adams Community Center,  569 North Cedar Street Adams, WI  53910 from 3:00 -5:30 p.m. Honor guard will be present.

A special thanks to Tony and wife Anna Goff for the compassion and companionship they showed Chuck in his time of need.

Tony please remember you where his rock thru his last few months you made his last days complete taking him fishing camping and just being their. may god bless you all in this time of sorrow

    Tony, I am so sorry for the loss of Chuck in your life. You were his best buddy the last several months. The fishing, the camping, the just hanging and chilling. You cared for him like no other.
