Cody A. Garrett, age 20, of Oxford, Wisconsin went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Michael Amberg will officiate. Interment will be at the New Chester Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Cody was born March 24, 1995 in Mauston, Wisconsin to his birth parents, DeeAnn Mathewson & Van Johnston who willingly allowed Linda & Robert Garrett to adopt him as their own living a happy and joyful life.
Cody loved fishing and playing guitar. He wanted to be a singer/songwriter. His favorite memory was when he and his Grandpa Mathewson went fishing in Kentucky and also grandpa cheering for him and his brother Jeremy at their baseball games. Cody met Amanda Payne in 2013 and together they had Cody’s most precious joy in life- his daughter Scarlett, on December 21, 2014.
He was very proud and looked up to his sister Tisha and always cheered on his sister Gabby. Cody would bet others that his brother Jeremy could beat them in basketball. He never doubted any of his siblings and loved them very much. He was the type to brag about how wonderful his family was especially Scarlett and his siblings.
Cody was very faithful in his religion and would share his beliefs with others who were doubtful.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Garrett; Grandfather, Michael Mathewson Sr.; brother, John Garrett; Uncle, Mark Mathewson; Uncles: Clayton D. White and James Johnston; Great-Grandparents, Lloyd & Virginia Mathewson and Herman & Eleanor Nihipali-Haddox.

I know things happened to keep him from coming home to the ones that really loved him. God is caring for him until you can be with him. You know now that he is at peace and happy.
