Dennis was born October 6, 1943, in Adams, Wisconsin to Percy and Jean (Cunat) Jameson. He married his high school sweetheart, Patty Ashworth on January 22, 1966 in Adams, Wisconsin. They were true partners in every sense of the word. Their life together was filled with adventure, jokes, family, and friends. Their family is their true legacy.
Dennis graduated from UW-Stevens Point in June of 1966 and started his 40-year career with the Wisconsin DNR that same day. After a storied career he retired as a Supervisor Conservation Warden. While there were many notable moments in his career, he would tell you his proudest moment was hiring the first female conservation law enforcement officer in the state of Wisconsin. His passion for wildlife and the environment carried through the rest of his life.
He enjoyed a long retirement where he remained active in the community and built the life he always dreamed of, where he was surrounded by his family and able to pass along his love for the great outdoors to the next generations.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Virgil Jameson, sister Audrey Kosobud, brother-in-law Leonard Kosobud, and Nephew James Jameson.
He was a proud father to Jill (Rich Sefkar) Showalter and Jana (Michael) Ketelsleger. “Grandpa Denny” loved nothing more than being with his grandchildren: Zak (Annie) Showalter, Jake (MacKenzy) Showalter, Megan Plan, and great-grandchildren: Charlie Bickerstaff, Grayson Bickerstaff, Emma Fuller, and Hallie Showalter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at the UW Health Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic, Aveanna Home Health, and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care of Dennis as he progressed through his journey with ALS.
Per his wishes, the family will have a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dennis’ name to the ALS Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.

Dear Patty and Jameson Family – I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. I met Denny when I was first stationed in the Baraboo area as a Conservation Warden. He was so friendly and genuine when we chatted about some of his cases, the career, and the area hotspots to keep an eye on. I appreciated the encouragement and smiling face during our conversations. My thoughts are with you during this holiday season.
Patty so sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know of Denny’s struggles with ALS. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
We are thinking of you and your family during this time of loss. A very well liked and respected man.
Patty and Family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Denny, Sid sent me the link to the funeral home.
We always enjoyed the lunch and then time to visit with you both at your lovely home. Such a tranquil setting, definitely made for great gatherings with family and friends. Denny took us on the atv tour of Lake Denny…so fun.
Enjoy the hugs and warmth from your many friends and relatives now….they help at a time like this.

I sure remember Deny and his family. We had happy times winter vacationing at the Holiday Inn (had a pool!) in Stevens Point. Deny was a hard AND smart worker. He was someone I admired. Patti, bless her, was very patient with the odd hour 8ntrusions on her, some times was work, other times “play.”
Bless Deny’s family. ♥️🙏
Denny and i worked together for many years. He was a great guy with s super sense of humor. He eill be missed dearly

What a great guy and great warden. Learned alot from during our short time together in Sauk Co. God be with you guys.
We were blessed to call him Uncle Denny. When arriving at Lake Denny we were always greeted with a big hug and smile. There are so many treasured memories we have at Lake Denny including mule rides, climbing the sand hill, watching Champ fish for hours, my Dad and Uncle Denny sitting in their lawn chairs smiling while watching everyone have so much fun, and Auntie Pat having a spread of food in the house. I know my Mom and Dad were there to greet you and probably already out taking a ride! Thank you for being the best Uncle ever. Keep smiling on Uncle Denny!!!
He was such a great man to be around, I loved the rides in the 4 wheeler , checking out the property and I marveled at his own lake. One time he let me fish the lake, I could catch but not keep the fish, I caught one but it swallowed the hook and I couldn’t save it, I hid it , I was too scared to tell Denny what I did 😊 I was very fortunate to have know him.
Dear Patty and Family, Our deepest condolences to you all. I always remember him as such
a quiet man but always a smile on his face. My Mom always has such wonderful things to say about him
and their “High school days.” May God grant you peace at this difficult time.
I enjoyed playing high school basketball with Denny. He was a very unselfish 6’1 center. Our record that year was 16-6. We roomed together our freshman year at St. Point. We could never agree on the best song that year “Sherry” or “Pretty Woman”. We also worked together at the Mobil station. He was a much better worker than me. Lastly we played 6 handed cards together with our parents. I don’t remember who won. Our deepest sympathy Patty and to your family. Dennis was a great guy.
