Diane Alice (Roberts) Whitfield
Diane was a woman of incredible strength and sweetness. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of everyone she met. When Diane moved to Lawton with her daughter, she embraced her daughter’s army friends as her own children, providing love and support to all. Diane cherished her family and friends with all of her heart. In addition to her husband, Billy Whitfield, Diane is survived by her daughter, Amber Zernia, and son, Jack Zernia. She is also survived by her sister, Lorie Bowman, sister inlaw Dawn Roberts. Lorie and husband Vernon Jahnke and nephews Paul and Brandon Bowman and her grandchildren, Jacob Labiosa, Hudson and Sawyer Zernia, Baylor Conley and Kaylee Smith, and Cheyenne Dyer. Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Melvina Roberts, father, Albert Roberts (Bud), sister, Linda Theissen, and brother, Charles Roberts, three days after diane passed away her Son Joel Waite went to join her. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Johnny Theissen.
Diane dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and homemaker. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she lovingly sewed, enjoyed fishing, and camping during her free time. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity and carry on the family tradition of quilting.
A combined celebration of life for Diane and Joel will be held at a future date next spring. Details regarding the service will be announced closer to the time.
Diane Alice Whitfield will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strength, kindness, and love will forever be remembered and cherished
I worked with Diane many years ago at Best Power in Necedah. She was always a nice friendly person with a good sense of humor.
She was what everyone should be to make this a better world.
