Donna was born November 23, 1952 at the Wild Rose Hospital to the late Allen and Gladys (Smith) Cardo. She attended DeGeorge Elementary and Adams-Friendship High School, graduating in 1970. On December 11, 1971 she married Richard “Dick” Foster at the South Burr Oak Methodist Church. Donna worked for 30 years hauling mail to and from local post offices to distribution centers in Oshkosh and Milwaukee.
Donna and Dick enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. The last five years Donna lived in the Hancock Apartments, where she enjoyed working at Hoops Truck Stop in Coloma when she was able, as well as reading, doing puzzles, and cooking and baking, which she often shared with her friends.
Donna is survived by brothers: Richard (Arlene) Cardo of rural Friendship and Gerald (Cindy Giese) Cardo of rural Coloma; Sisters: Lila (Allyn) Thorson of rural Hancock and Karen (the late Sanford) Moen of Wisconsin Rapids. She is additionally survived by Dick’s brother Ray E. (Marie) Foster of Adams, WI
Sisters-in-law: Alice Mueller of Adams and Sally May of St. Augustine, Florida. Donna is further survived by several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Gladys Cardo; husband, Dick; infant brother, John Allen, along with many other close family members.
Donna’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the South Burr Oak Methodist Church. Rev. Candy Lisiecki will officiate. Interment will be at the White Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the relatives and friends who supported Donna through her difficult journey with cancer, including the many Madison, Stevens Point, and Marshfield area doctors, nurses, and aides who guided her care, and especially the House of the Dove staff who lovingly and compassionately provided for her final needs.
