Frank Joseph Gasienica

Frank Joseph Gasienica, age 87, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in

Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Interment will be at the St. Leos Catholic Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Frank was born June 25, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Bernice (Roj) Gasienica. He attended school in Chicago thru the 8th grade. Frank moved with his family to Friendship in 1935. The family bought a farm, working it for a number of years while working for John Vana on his farm and cutting ice for Ted Ashworth on Friendship Lake. He also worked for L. Picus and Sons, Gambles Store, Red Owl Grocery Store as a meat cutter for 26 years, A-F High School as a custodian for 10 years and then transferred to the Adams Grade School until his retirement in 1987.

Frank married Anne E. Viktora on October 25, 1954 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Adams, WI.

Frank enjoyed gardening, working in the woods, playing cards, spending time with his family and grandchildren, watching the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers baseball games, and his enjoyment of model trains.

Frank was preceded in death by his Father, John Gasienica; Step-Father, John Slowinski; Mother, Bernice Slowinski; two sisters and one brother in the 1918 flu epidemic.

Grandchild: Garrett Gasienica of Friendship, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Travis Walters of Oxford, Wisconsin
Step-Granddaughter: Rachel Barrick of Friendship, Wisconsin
Step-Grandson: Nicholas Walters of Baraboo, Wisconsin
Step-Grandson: Ross Walters of Oxford, Wisconsin
Step-Granddaughter: Maribeth Barrick of Friendship, Wisconsin
Step-Granddaughter: Sarah Barrick of Friendship, Wisconsin

    My condolences to Franks family. When I was a boy Frank would hire me for some odd jobs around his farm. He would always let me drive his car before I was old enough for a license. Frank was a good man and I am sure his family will miss him.
