Fred Herman Fischer Sr., age 80, of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 9th, 2010 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Quincy, Wisconsin. Rev. T. Christian Nelson will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Squad.
Fred was born December 23, 1929 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Carl Herman and Louise (Shawley) Fischer. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. Fred served in Korea from 1948 to 1953; he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Fred worked for Warwicks in Zion, IL where he met his wife, Donna Mae Millard whom he married on September 22, 1962 in Waukegan, IL. Fred then worked American Motors and Mac Wyte Wire Rope in Kenosha until his retirement. Fred also worked for Kenosha Private Police after his retirement. In 2002, he and his family moved to Adams County.
Fred as preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Louise Fischer; wife, Donna Mae Fischer; brothers: Harry and Billy Fischer; and sisters: Edith Paulson and Betty Lou Fischer.
