George G. Mock III, 81, of Adams, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024. Born on May 10, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, George was the son of George and Jayne Mock.
George’s life was one filled with love, dedication, and service. He met his beloved wife, Diane (Kirsenlohr) Mock, at the Dellwood Pavilion in Adams, Wisconsin, and they were united in marriage on August 17, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adams. Together, they shared 55 years of love and companionship.
George was a pillar of his community, dedicating himself to serving others. He was instrumental in starting and running the local ambulance service for thirty years, ensuring that his neighbors received the urgent medical care they needed in times of crisis. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life, touching the lives of many in his community.
In addition to his service in emergency medical care, George pursued his passions with unwavering enthusiasm. An avid photographer and skilled woodworker, he poured his heart into creating beautiful rainsticks, bowls, and chairs, which he generously shared as gifts with loved ones.
Traveling was another of George’s great joys, especially when spent with his family. From exploring the wonders of the western United States with his children to leisurely walks along the beaches of Santa Barbara, George cherished every moment spent making memories with those he held dear.
A true connoisseur of life’s simple pleasures, George’s perfect day included savoring a tall Starbucks Latte and indulging in a Chicago Style hotdog from Hot Dog Avenue, complete with extra hot peppers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jayne Mock, and his in-laws, Clelia and George Kirsenlohr.
George is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of Adams, Wisconsin; his children, Chris (Amy) Mock of Baraboo, Wisconsin, David (Mindy) Mock of Port Edwards, Wisconsin, Daniel Mock of Adams, Wisconsin, and Sarah Mock (Mike) of Friendship, Wisconsin; his sister, Andrea (Mock) LaValle; his niece, Angela (LaValle) Trevino; his nephew, Peter LaValle, all of Santa Barbara, California; as well as nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family expresses their gratitude to Heartland Hospice and the staff of Rosebrooke Assisted Living for their exceptional care and compassion.
George brought such comfort to all those he helped at ACMH. Many members of my family, myself included, were cared for by this amazing man! George made everyone feel “at home and at peace” and even brought some much needed humor to the E.R. Rest in peace George, you did life, very well!
Diane and family, So very sorry to hear of George’s passing. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Sending prayers of healing and peace to you all.
We are thinking of you all at this sad time. George took our wedding pictures 46 years ago. He was a talented individual and a nice person.

The first time we encountered George made our eyes just about pop out — he was hanging on to windshield wipers, laying on the hood of a car as it whizzed by our home on Hwy. Z, in Quincy. We had just moved there and that got our attention! What followed after getting to meet him was an introduction into his entertaining antics while “haunted house hunting” in the County. He had such an incredible sense of humor! And a zest for life! We were delighted for him when he met the love of his life — he then had it all with Diane for so many decades, a perfect pairing. Dear Diane and Andy, in spite of your deep loss, find peace in all those memories that no one can ever take away from you.

Sincere condolences to the family of George. This is beautifully written, can feel the love that is put into each word! 🙂 As a friend of Andy’s, I have fond memories of their visits to Santa Barbara…loved his sense of humor and a genuine curiosity/care for other people on his vacation adventures. He was a true artist..both in photography and woodworking skills.
So sorry for your loss, sending prayers to the family
My thoughts are with all of you, Diane and family. I always enjoyed stopping by your house and visiting with George. The times I’d stop up at Bill Joyces and catch the two of them working on their wood projects was always a fun time! The two of them are probably working on a project right now!!
So sorry to hear of loss George was a great guy
Diane & Family, I can’t help but think how many pieces of art that he made with his own hands & gave to family & friends. All made with love. We will all miss him. Sending our thoughts, prayers & blessings to each of you.
Rest in peace George, you had a heart of gold!
My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
Several times years ago George transported my Mom
to the hospital. I will never forget the time you had to
take her from Adams hospital to Madison University hospital.
You told us not to try to follow because you were going to
put the lights on to get her there faster, but you would wait
for us in UW emergency room. Your compassion was so greatly
appreciated!
Diane and family
So, so sorry to hear of George’s passing. What a sweet and kind man he was to all. I met George when I worked for Home Health out of ACMH way back in late 80’s, early 90’s. We would run into one another often at the hospital when H.H. was in the little house by the hospital parking lot. George will be sadly missed and remembered by all that knew him. He did so much good and helped so many in his lifetime….a life to be proud of for sure. Condolences to you all and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult and heartbreaking time. Hugs to you all.❤️

Diane & family, my sincere condolences for your loss. I worked with George at ACMH, not directly but he would always stop and say hi. He was very dedicated to the ambulance service. In high school he always was cordial and had that spring in his step and a smile. He will always be remembered.
A true treasure lost………
I have no words. Saying I’m sorry seems so inadequate. George was a true friend to me and Glenn. Glenn had a scar across his chin that was caused by George hitting him with a hockey stick in their growing up days. We all always laughed over that. I had the absolute pleasure of working with him many years at ACMH. He taught me so much! He was a pillar in the community! He was the biggest soul and heart! And when I was younger Diane worked in my dad’s real estate office! This hits my heart hard!
Diane and Family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss! George was a super guy and will be a great loss to everyone who knew him!
Dianne and family! So sorry for your loss! He was a wonderful man! He will be missed! Hugs and prayers to the family
Dear Diane and kids,
Pete and I are so sorry to hear of George’s passing. We were neighbors for years and have fond memories of living on Grove St just a block away from your home. We had a huge oak tree taken down in front of our home, and George asked for some of the beautiful wood. I also became a proud owner of a bowl from that tree that George carved. It now resides with my youngest son as a memory of the old neighborhood. George was so intelligent and such an asset to the community. He and Diane were a great example of a loving couple whose family came first. May all your memories bring you peace.
My deepest sympathy to Diane and family, it saddens my heart to hear this, I had so many wonderful years knowing George and as he would say solving all the world’s problems in a half hour while getting his hair cuts, He was one of the kindest souls I ever knew, you will be missed by many.
Diane, Chris, David, Danny and Sarah I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Take the time to remember all the good memories, trips and experiences you had with him. Hugs to you all. ❤️

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of such a kind and treasured man. I have not seen him in many years but have very strong memories of sharing time with him and enjoying his philosophies and wonderful sense of humor. I can hear him laughing. I am looking now at one of the first bowls he made and gifted me with many years ago. It has traveled with me always and makes me smile. As did he. His art, his curiosity, his kindness and his love of life were a gift to his family and everyone who knew him. A life well lived.

My sincerest sympathies to the Mock family. The news of George’s passing deeply saddened me. In my youth, I often visited the Mock household to spend time with Chris. There, I discovered George’s remarkable collection of vinyl albums, which I would occasionally get to explore. With his impeccable dry wit, George introduced me to enduring, high-quality music—a gift that continues to resonate within me. Undoubtedly, there are numerous accounts of George’s transformative influence on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him. Rest peacefully, George.
I could tell more than a thousand stories of my carrier working with George and all of them humorous if not outright funny. He wasn’t just a coworker but a friend I enjoyed working with. One antidote I will share. George hated meetings. A complete waste of time. Before the meeting he would call someone and ask them to call him out of the meeting. OK, one more. He got lost in Madison once. He knew Madison. He was so embarrassed. I hope there are no meetings in Heaven, it’s only right.
Diane and Family,
So sorry for your loss. George truly was an amazing man. He touched the lives of so many. My thoughts are with you all.

I’m going to miss my incredible, loving brother so much! Since we moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1987, my brother and sister-in-law, Diane visited us out here many times along with many of their children and grandchildren, and I cherish those visits. I went back to Adams in September of 2023 to see my brother for what would be the last time, though I didn’t realize it at the time. He was the best brother anyone could ever ask for.
