George R. Baker, age 91, of Friendship, Wisconsin, passed away on November 10, 2010 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Mark Stevens and Pastor Andrew Eytzen will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
George was born January 20, 1919 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to William and Mable Baker. He enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. George married Eunice M. Erdman on April 17, 1938 in Adams, Wisconsin. They were married for 72 years and during this time they were blessed with seven children.
George loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed dancing, telling stories, fishing and watching old westerns. He also enjoyed taking care of his dog Duke and watching baseball.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Baker; brother, Willis Baker; and sister, Ella Ducho..

Daughter: Georgiann (Louis) Vasquez of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Son: George (Nancy) Baker Jr. of Westfield, Wisconsin
Further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

Sorry to hear about your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. George had really good stories that he told from his past. And also would always let everybody know that he and Eunice have been together for 72 years. He was so proud of his past and of his wife, Eunice. You are in my thoughts.

Linda and family, I am soo sorry to hear of George’s passing. Him and I had an understanding, he would always calm down for the brown girl…lol.. He always told me about his stories in the military, he was a very interesting man. He is in a better place now, even there is heart felt sorrow, he is watching down on each and every one of you. I’d like to extend my condolences to Ms. Eunice and her family. I remember George when I was little. He made us laugh so much; always joking around. I learned to "spot nails" while staying with him and Leroy. Great family! Will be sadly missed. Dennis in San Antonio, TX
