Georgene Anne Seaman, age 81, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away February 15, 2014 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Trinity Congregational Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. Richard Corning will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Georgene was born April 14, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Vivian Wordell.
She graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay.
Georgene married William R. Seaman on October 30, 1954 in Milwaukee. Bill worked for the CN&W Railroad, where they lived in Madison, Milwaukee, Lake Mills and finally settling in Adams in 1972. Georgene felt very fortunate that she was able to stay home, raise her six children and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very crafty woman who enjoyed a variety of different hobbies; quilting, painting, crocheting, knitting, making artificial flower arrangements and sewing. She knitted hundreds of sweaters for Oxfam sweater project for children overseas. Following Bill’s retirement, they spent many weekends with the members of the Zor Shrine participating in parades and raising money for the Shriners Children’s Hospital. One of the highlights in her life was that she traveled to Italy with her daughters, her brother and his wife.
She was involved in many different organizations including Happy Hour Homemakers, Tuesday morning bowling, Red Hats, Moundview Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star and was a very active member of Trinity Congregational Church in Adams.
Georgene was preceded in death by her husband, William Seaman; parents, George & Vivian Wordell; sister, Patricia Kaiser and father & mother in law, Julius & Dorothy Seaman
