Gerald “Shorty” Trewyn, age 93, of Sparta, formerly of Friendship, Wisconsin went to his eternal resting place to be reunited with the love of his life, Margaret, on June 26, 2022.
Gerald was born to John and Nellie (Gray) Trewyn May 5, 1929. In 1950 he married Margaret Torrey and they were together for 59 years before her passing in 2010. Together they raised 9 children: Sandra Hewitt, John (Deb) Trewyn, Gerald “Mike” Trewyn, Patricia Hoffman, Russell (Karen) Trewyn, Larry Trewyn, Robert “Bucky” (Charmaine) Trewyn, Kathleen Larson, and Carol (John) Worth.
Gerald loved playing with and spoiling his many grand, great, and great-great grandkids. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, building things, cooking over the open fire, and telling jokes.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, his siblings Luella, Merrill, Earl, Raymond, David, Elroy, Betsy, and Janice; his children Gerald “Mike” Trewyn, Kathleen Larson, and his granddaughter Jennifer Kath.
He is survived by his siblings Kathy, Jim, Dick, Mike, Pearl, Stan, Roger, and Tom; his children, Sandra Hewitt, John (Deb) Trewyn, Patricia Hoffman, Russell (Karen) Trewyn, Larry Trewyn, Robert “Bucky” (Charmaine) Trewyn, and Carol (John) Worth.
The family would like to give a special shout out to the Mayo clinic hospice team and Rolling Hills nursing home in Sparta, where he resided until his time of passing, for all the wonderful care they gave Gerald. There will not be a funeral service, but the family will be having a private memorial service for him at a later date.

We knew Shorty for many years. He was quite the handyman, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! Always so nice to run into him at the store or around town. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He will be greatly missed.
