Gwendolyn "Gwen" Cottier

Gwendolyn D. "Gwen" Cottier, of Nekoosa, WI passed into Glory on Saturday, November 7th at the Palliative Care Center in Marshfield, WI.

Gwen was born July 12, 1922 in Colome, SD to James and Bertha Lycan. She lost her first husband Melvin Speichinger in 1976. Gwen is survived by her husband Louis Cottier to whom she has been married for 27 years.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Ed) Anderson of Council Bluffs, IA., and their two daughters, Sheryl (Tom) McCullough and Susan (Mike) Wiley.

She is also survived by her son, Dr. James Speichinger and his wife, Dr. Susan Haack, who are residents of Friendship, WI. They have three sons, Eric (Suzanne), Steven (Alison), and Gregg (Anna).

Gwen has two stepsons, Randy (Sue) and Kevin (Jean) Cottier of Pembroke Pines, FL and Savannah, GA respectively.

Gwen was blessed to know all 17 of her great-grandchildren. She was further blessed by her loving dog, Sport.

Gwen remained active in her bridge groups right up to the end. Her infectious smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may call on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at Roseberrys Funeral Home in Friendship from 4 to 7 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation with interment at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, 2101 Jackson St, Sioux City, Iowa 51104.

    When I think of Gwen, I think of a lady with a magical smile and total love of family. She loved her children, grandchildren great-grandchildren and her dear Louie. I am so happy we got to have such a nice visit at the
    lake house in September. She will be remembered with great fondness and affection. I know the Lord welcomed her with open arms .
