Hazel was born on May 25, 1918 to Walter and Pearl (Hale) Osborn in Lincoln Township, Grand Marsh, Wisconsin. She was born and raised on her father’s family farm which was originally homesteaded by her great-grandfather, Orin Osborn in 1866.
Hazel married Harold Morgan on March 4, 1937 in Waukegan, Illinois. They made their home on the family farm where Hazel was born. Together they raised two children, Larry and Sandra. Hazel and Harold worked side by side on the farm, first operating a small dairy farm and later raising beef cattle in addition to chickens and hogs. Hazel also held several jobs throughout the years which included working at Badger Ordnance, Rayovac, a plastic factory in Portage, Brakebush Brothers, Villa Pines Living Center, and Wallendal Supply.

Hazel was also a former member of the Adams County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (now known as Partners of MMH&C), Grand Marsh Development Corp., American Legion Auxiliary, Grand Marsh Lions, Shadow Sisters and Grand Marsh Pathfinders Snowmobile Club. She worked as a volunteer at the Corn n’ Tater Festival since its formation, until her health declined. Hazel was recognized for her continued dedication and service to the community and to the Grand Marsh Development Corporation in 1994.

Hazel enjoyed riding horses in her youth, bowling, dancing, baking, helping others and spending time outdoors especially in her gardens (both flowers and vegetables), camping/traveling, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and caring for all types of animals. She was often known to rescue many animals in need. Hazel most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Larry; brother, Vern Osborn; sister, Viola Stuebs; brother-in-law, Lester Stuebs and brother-in-laws/sister in-laws: Lester and Catherine Morgan, Floyd and Mildred Morgan, Milfred and Dorothy Morgan, Clifford and Leah Morgan, Belva and Clarence Kurth, June and Charlie Vavrina.
