Helena Burik

Helena Burik, 100, died Wednesday, March 14th 2012 at Richmond Healthcare Center, Richmond, KS.

A graveside memorial service with inurnment is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28th, 2012, at the Kingston cemetery at Kingston, WI.

She was born Aug. 25th, 1911, in Sycamore, IL. to Fredrick and Juliette (LaVigne) Post Helena grew up and attended school in Auburn, IL.  She married Martin Burik in Chicago Jan. 6, 1930. They shared 40 years of married life before  Martin passed away April 22, 1970.

Helena was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband  sharing the workload of  several businesses, the last was the Kingston Roller Mill at Kingston,WI.

She moved to Sanibel Island, FL in 1980 where she enjoyed shelling along  the beach, and the warm winter weather. She took pride in baking, especially bread and danish coffee cakes, sharing them with  family and friends.Helena moved to Ottawa, KS. in 2003, then  entered  Richmond Healthcare Center in 2007.

Helena was a member of the Lutheran Church in Adams and Kingston, WI; Ottawa, KS. and Sanibel Community  Church, Sanibel, FL.

Helena is survived by three daughters, Christina Hillsman, Fort Myers, FL;  Jean Peronto and husband Roland,  Manitowoc,  WI.; and Marlyn Kolinsky and husband      Patrick, Land O’Lakes,WI; sons, Richard Burik, Cape Coral, FL; and Martin F. Burik and wife Janice,Ottawa, KS.; a sister,Eileen Kaye, LeHigh Acres, FL; 21 grandchildren,    42  great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Bonnie Graser; three brothers, Theodore; William; and Carl Post;and two sisters,Emma Streu and Mary Louise Post.

The family will receive friends from 2p.m. to 3p.m. at the grave site prior the service.
