Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Interment will be at St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Jack was born in Milwaukee on October 7th, 1927, to John F. and Erna (Kelly) McManus. He attended Riverside High School in Milwaukee, served in the United States Army and trained as a mechanic.
Jack married Margie Anderson on March 11, 1950, and moved to Friendship in June of 1951. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Jane, Karen, Linda, Pat, Mike, and Jim. Jack lost Margie to cancer on January 2nd, 1983. Jack later met Myrtle Gurecki who remained his constant companion until his death.
Jack worked for his father-in-law, Earl Anderson, at Anderson’s Garage & Machine Shop, drove a milk truck, and worked as a mechanic for the county highway department before going to work at AF Motors. Jack spent 25 years there, first as the parts and service manager, then working as the parts manager until his retirement in 1992.
Jack was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Pat Nystrom and Jean Kaye, brothers-in-law, Jack Nystrom, Erwin Kaye, Harold and Russell Anderson, and Paul Mangum, sisters-in-law, Betty Jameson and Evelyn Mangum, as well as niece Jacqueline Nystrom.

Grandchildren: Stephan, Earl, William and Anthony Fenner, Paula Preteroti, Debra Wilkins, Marc and Linda Gallardo, Janet Kotlowski, Thomas McManus, Samantha Forsman and Corey McManus.
He is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren, the Gurecki family, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

We were so very saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. I have many wonderful memories of Jane hauling all of us kids over to his house for visits when we were little, and we were always greeted with a smile. You are ALL in our thoughts. Sending you Peace and Love.

Very sorry for your loss. I have some great memories of Jack when he worked the parts counter for AF Motors and I was just starting at Carquest. He was a character and always gave me a “hard time” when he called for parts! He will certainly be missed.
