James Hendricksen, age 88, of Big Flats, Wisconsin passed away May 6, 2009 at the Moundview.
Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Big Flats, Wisconsin. Pastor Karyn Bodenschatz will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at the Niebull Cemetery, Big Flats, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home and again on Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. 
James was born October 27, 1920 in Big Flats, Wisconsin to Sofus and Olga (Hayes) Hendricksen. He attended Niebull School in Big Flats through the 8th grade. On August 29, 1946 James was married to Rose Kouba at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale. To this union three children were born, Richard, Thomas and Carol. James was a farmer his whole life, he milked cows for over 50 years. After retiring from Dairying he continued to raise crops and beef cattle.
He enjoyed woodworking, and was always ready to help in any building project. James was an avid gardener until his passing. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren.
James was on the Farmers Union Co-op Services Board of Directors for 18 years when it was first organized. He drove school bus and was weed commissioner for the Town of Big Flats. He also served as treasurer for Niebull Cemetery and served on the Zion Lutheran Church Council for many years. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his memory to Zion Lutheran Church of Big Flats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sofus & Olga Hendricksen; brother & sister-in-law, Irvin & Elsie Hendricksen; brother-in-law, Robert Sutherland; brother-in-law, Jim Peterson; and brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Joe & Lorraine Kouba.

Grandson: Christopher Jefferson of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Great Grandaughter: Ariana Cavanaugh of Rome, Wisconsin
Great Grandson: Cody Hendricksen of Arkdale, Wisconsin
Sister: Laura Sutherland of Rome, Wisconsin
Brother in law: Emil (Donabelle) Kouba of Rome, Wisconsin
Sister in law: Ella Peterson of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
