Janet C. Moyer

Janet C. Moyer

Janet C. Moyer, age 88, of Friendship, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Dave and Jan Moyer’s home in Clinton, Wisconsin.

Jan was born on June 2, 1937, in Rockford, Illinois, to Gunnard and Angeline (Abramovich) Johnson. She married Glen “Marv” Moyer on August 21, 1954, in Illinois. In the 1950s, they purchased property in Friendship, where they spent many cherished vacations with Marv’s brothers in the Dellwood area, which would later become a special place throughout their lives.

Jan worked for Woodward, Inc. in Loves Park, Illinois, from September 1965 until her retirement in April 2000. Following Marv’s passing in 2008, she made her home in Friendship. In 2010, Jan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter Debbie and son-in-law Brian until 2017, when she went to live with her son Greg and his wife Jolene, where she remained until her passing.
Jan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She and Marv enjoyed visiting casinos together, and she had a passion for teaching, selling, and creating ceramics, often serving as a mentor to others. She loved reading, listening to and singing along with classic country music, and spending time outdoors in the sunshine. Janet and Marv also treasured their time at Spot in the Woods, especially for Friday fish fries and relaxing Sunday afternoons. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and was loved beyond measure by all who knew her. Her favorite phrase was “I’m alright, the world is all wrong.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen “Marv” Moyer; daughter, Debbie; her three sisters, Barbara (Fritz), Geraldine “Gerry” (Jack), and Carol.

Jan is survived by her children, Greg (Jolene), Wendy, and George; her grandchildren, Alicia, Shaunacee, Zach, Erin, Meghan, and Mikey; two great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Andy.
