Javier was my first track Foreman when I started at Mitchell Yard in 1978. The crew worked hard for him because they respected him and he did the same. A great one of a kind human being. Rest In Peace my friend!

  3. Derek Johnson says:

    Zavala
One of the hardest working men I knew. Taught those of us that could be taught just what it meant to be a true Railroader. His respect was something that had true meaning! He was loved by us all with the exception of a few and none of us liked those guys anyway. The CNW, UP and us all sure owe him a RIP. And those angels up there better get ready….cause he will be putting you all to work and I do mean a good days work!
