Jeffery Alan Rose
Jeffery Alan Rose, age 69, of Adams, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Jeff was born August 11, 1956, in Waukesha, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Rose. He grew up in Grand Marsh and attended schools in Grand Marsh and Adams. A skilled Maintenance Technician, Jeff spent his career with Circle P Farms, Potato World, Brakebush Brothers, and Penda.
An avid outdoorsman, Jeff lived for the fishing season, regardless of the temperature. He was a regular on the ice with his best friend, Mike Rykiel, and took great pride in his endless collection of “fish stories.” Jeff’s resilience was on full display this past year; after recently receiving a prosthetic leg, he was filled with joy and determination to join Mike back on the ice this winter.
In his younger years, Jeff enjoyed hunting and the tradition of Friday night card games with the guys. More recently, he found peace in the quiet beauty of nature, spending his days feeding the birds and watching the deer roam through his yard.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Heather (Allen) Schmidt; his father, Robert Rose; and siblings, Linda (Tim) Heller, Sherry Kotlowski, Doug (Mellie) Rose, and Fern (Ray) Rose. He was the proud grandfather of Melissa Hodges, Hunter Schmidt, and AJ Schmidt; and great-grandfather to Liam and Nathaniel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Rose, and his grandson, Harley Schmidt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Grand Marsh Community Center. The family expresses their sincere thanks to the Adams Police Department, Roseberry’s Funeral Home, Gundersen Health System, and UW Health Portage for their compassion and care.

I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know Jeff over the last year caring for and helping him out. There was never a time he didn’t have a smile on his face when I walked in his door.
