John C. Premo, age 82, of Brooks, Wisconsin died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Dean Nelson will officiate. Military rites will be offered at the graveside service by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273. Visitation will be 12 Noon until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the New Chester Cemetery, Town of New Chester, Adams County, Wisconsin at a later date.
John was born August 12, 1924 in Coloma, Wisconsin to Louis and Elizabeth (Traver) Premo. John married Lorraine Graskamp on February 4, 1943 in Westfield, Wisconsin. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater of War. He returned home to Brooks to his wife and family following the war. John worked for the Chicago NorthWestern Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1984.
John and Lorraine celebrated 64 years of marriage this past February 4th.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, making Papa Premos Premium Pretzels, made fishing barrel scalers, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by parents, brothers: Norman, Harold, and Richard; and an infant son, John Jr and son-law-law, Wayne Jansa.

Daughter: Penny Premo of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Brother: Howard Premo of Coloma, Wisconsin
Sister: Arlene (Bob) Barnes of Coloma, Wisconsin
Grandchildren: 12
Great-Grandchildren: 18
Further survived by other relatives and many friends.
John is remembered for saying "Come Up."
