John E. Fisher Sr. 76, Oxford, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Agrace Hospice in Madison. He was born to Jesse and Mildred Fisher on January 7, 1944. He followed in his father’s footsteps by owning his own logging business until his retirement, hauling his last load of wood in November 2017. John was united in marriage to Barbara Wing on June 29, 1966. Together they had four children. He enjoyed going to the restaurant and socializing. In his younger years he enjoyed deer hunting and a good game of Yahtzee which he usually won.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons: John (Karen) Fisher of Oxford, Randy (Shar) Fisher of Portage, Chad (Nira) Fisher of Oxford, and daughter: Sandy (Joe) Kinder of Oxford, grandchildren: Natasha, Nicholas, Katlynn, Mitchell, Justin, and Jonah and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Pete.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the St. John Lutheran Church, 330 E. Vallette St., Oxford, WI 53952

My Sympathy to the Fisher family. I have known John my entire life and he was one of the hardest working men i have ever met. I remember going to Jesse and Millie’s place as a kid and seeing the horses and a never ending garden. John was always pleasant to speak with and had a laugh you will never forget. Rest in peace John.
