Joseph E. Prindle, age 85, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died April 27, 2011 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Chaplain Rich Engle will officiate. Interment will be at the Olin Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Joseph was born August 20, 1925 in Rockton, Illinois to Earl and Etta (Merrick) Prindle. He married Irene Waldo in Adams, Wisconsin. Joseph served in the United States Navy during WWII, in the Pacific. He was stationed aboard the USS Princeton and was sunk during the battle of Leyte Gulf.
Joseph worked the family farm and as a welder at Big Joe Mfg. until he retired in 1989.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Prindle; two brothers, James & John Prindle; daughter, Donna Howell; and Parents, Earl & Etta Prindle.

Sister: Doris Chamberlin of Grand Marsh, Wisconsin

I don’t remember Joseph but my mother was from Rockton also and when I was a boy back in the 1930’s we used to go up in Adams county every year or so to visit the Prindles.They lived on a farm and I was always fascinated by the chickens and other animals. We lost track of them after the war. Seems to me the name was Howard Prindle. If anyone would like to contact me my email is rcurrysr@Frontier.com.
