Joyce Beverly Bowser

Joyce Beverly Bowser, 67, of Adams, WI, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield, after a long battle with congestive heart failure and diabetes.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th, 2007 at Roseberrys Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. George Anderson will officiate. Burial to follow at the Easton Cemetery, Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Friends may call at Roseberrys on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

She was born December 29, 1939 in Allegan Co., Michigan to Lawrence and Lila (Siver) Harris. She married Robert Oliver Bowser July 5, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Joy and her family had moved. Bob was in the Army, stationed at Sandia Base. After Bobs discharge, they moved back to Bobs hometown of Adams, where they lived in Easton Township.

Joy enjoyed writing and was a member of the Sand Quill Writers for several years. She wrote under the pen name of Joy Bee Harris and wrote several articles for the Dells Events in the 1970s and 80s. Joy was also a member of the Easton Homemakers for a number of years. More recently, Joy was an editor of the Family Grapevine, a family newsletter, bringing together the Harris and Siver sides of her family.

Joy was a devout Christian her entire life. She has been welcomed home into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.

Joy was preceded in death by both of her parents, both her mother- and father-in-law, a sister-in-law Barbara Bowser, brothers-in-law Eugene Forsythe, Gail Harmsworth, Harold Williams, and a grandson Robert Frank Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Adams; children: Joyce (Kerry) Spurgeon, La Valle, WI; Robert Jr. (Holly) Bowser, Reedsburg, WI; Debra Johnson, Reedsburg, WI; Teresa (Dale) Brimmer, Mauston, WI; "adopted children" Chad and Katie Van Schoyck, Wisconsin Dells, WI; sisters: Marlene Forsythe, Durant, OK; Barbara (Bob) Dodson, Albuquerque, NM; Patricia Harmsworth, Fallon, NV; Audrey (Dick) Roberts, Palmer, AK; Pamela (Bill) Bowser, West Bend, WI; Brenda (Joe) Bellman, South Bend IN; brothers: Richard (Carolin) Harris, Olympia, WA; Gregory (Sherry) Harris, Durant, OK; sisters-in-law: Betty Williams, Adams, WI; Bonnie Bowser, Adams, WI; grandchildren; Tamara (Andrew) Senchal, Brandon Johnson, James (Mary Kay) Johnson, Kaitlin Johnson, Evan Johnson Jr., Trisha Johnson, Nicole Spurgeon, Steve Spurgeon, Robert Bowser III, Corinna Bowser, Dion Bowser, step-grandchildren: Tyler Bowser, Shawn Morgan, Dawn Kruze, Matt Bowser, Cherie Sturkie, Gordon Banta; 12 step-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very many friends.

Serving as pallbearers Steve Spurgeon, Brandon Johnson, Chad Van Schoyck, William Rice Sr., William Rice Jr., and Dale Bowser.
