Karen was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 30, 1944, the daughter of Sophie T. (Pliss) Koscielak and Benard Koceja and lovingly raised by Sophie and Leonard T. Koscielak. She is survived by her husband and great love of 40 years, Edward Wayne Miles, 6 children, and 19 grandchildren. Karen was an optimist–positive and encouraging for anyone who needed sunshine in life. She is the rainbow after the rain–full of joy and new perspectives. She was a generous soul who always stepped up to help others in need. Her genuine love and appreciation for others was contagious. Karen enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, visiting the north woods, a gypsy love for travel, and spending time with her family and friends. Karen held many jobs in her life to include homemaker, secretary, baker, cook at various venues and business owner. She was a 1962 graduate of Bay View High School. In 1962 she married and had five children. Her biggest love was marrying Edward Wayne Miles on December 24, 1983, bringing together two families and Wayne’s two children to love like her own.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wayne Miles; sons Steven Frelke, and Stewart R. (Diane) Frelke; daughters April Frelke, Amanda Frelke (the Farmer), Jennifer Frelke (Vincent S. Angiolo), and Tammy (Jake) Roseberry; grandchildren: Marissa (Joe) Kull, Caitlin, Lauren, and Sophia Frelke; Benjamin, Chelsey, and Anne Frelke; Luke Frelke; Adam Frelke, Vito and Marcello Angiolo; Fabian, Isaiah, and Kylie Rodriguez, Lily, Veda, Nala, Ty and Max Roseberry; and sister Kathleen (Koscielak) and her husband Kadhim Al-Eyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Koscielak and son Edward Alan Miles.
Viewing to be held Saturday, October 14 from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and the sharing of her life at 12:00–1:00 PM at Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory, 512 Main St., Friendship, WI 53934
