Karen L. Wilk

Karen L. Wilk, age 76, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 due to dementia. She was born to Fred and Mae (Jorstad) Borchardt in Wausau, Wis. on March 28, 1947. Karen attended St. John Lutheran School and Wausau High School while growing up. She married Raymond Wilk on October 11, 1963 and they headed to Baraboo, Wis., where they started their family. Upon retirement they moved to Grand Marsh.

She loved polkas and music, tending to her gardens, rides in the country, horses and animals including feeding every stray that came around. Her smile lit up the room. She was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Even with dementia, she never forgot “her honey, Raymond”.

Karen is survived by her husband, Raymond Wilk; daughter, Brenda (Andy) Johnson; daughter, Tammy (Jim) Copus; son, Brian (Stacy) Wilk; daughter, Susan Wilk; daughter, Crystal Wilk; daughter, Michelle Wilk; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Ray (Meghan), Ashley, Jordan, Krista, Angel, Serenity, Faith, Michael, Easton; and great grandchildren Jayde, Micah, Coreena, Connor, and Camryn; brother, Fredrick Borchardt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mae (Jorstad) Borchardt; sister Donna (Paul) Trelle; sister, Judy (Harold) Osborne; sister, Carol (Roelof) Stam.

The family would like to thank the incredible staff of Crest View Great Lakes Nursing Home in New Lisbon, Wis. their exceptional care. There will be no visitation or service per the request of Karen.
