  1. Margaret Stake says:

Kathryn was first a bridge acquaintance of mine, and then we became friends. I count it a privilege to have known her.
Someone once said that conversations can be divided into three categories:

    • Conversations about people
    • Conversations about things
    • Conversations about ideas

Of course Kathryn and I talked about many things, but I truly enjoyed our conversations about ideas. We talked often about politics, archaeology and our faith in God. The words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. come to mind when he said something to the effect that “You can’t judge a person by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.” I believe that he was referring to the character qualities: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF CONTROL.

    Kathryn exhibited all these qualities.
My daughter, Kirsten, and I will greatly miss her.

  2. Dawn & Charlie Page says:

It saddens our heart so much to hear of a dear friend passing.
We will miss her voice, hugs, wonderful smile, great understanding of things.
Thoughts and prayers go out to family & friends of this wonderful woman that we all got the pleasure of meeting and sharing time with.
A Rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall, and as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches straight and tall…
One day a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide, the Rose bent gently towards its warmth than passed beyond to the other side…
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve & make our courage faint and fall, let us faith and hope receive, The Rose still blooms beyond the wall!!!

  4. Sharon Statz says:

I am so sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. I met Kathy last summer after my move from GA. The time that I had the privilege of knowing her was way too short. Kathy took me under her wing, taught me Bridge, introduced me to the Mound View Ladies Bridge Club, and asked me to assist her in selling bakery at the Old Farmers Antique Fair. We had many great conversations and she always had a positive word to say. She told me about her son and his family, how she went to Arizona in the winter to spend time with her daughter and her family, and of coarse her dear friend Tom, whom she missed terribly. Kathy was a wonderful, kind friend to me. I will miss her dearly.

  5. Scott and Kim Ellis says:

Scott and I are so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. We met Kathy through the friendship we shared with Tommy Morgan. Scott will miss your fabulous neck and back rub’s and the good times we shared at the Old Mill Race Inn. We extend our sympathy to her family and friend’s. May she rest in peace.

  6. Rick & Joyce Koch says:

We are saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. Joyce and I spent many hours working with Kathy in the Adams County Lions Eye Bank support Group (where Kathy was secretary for many years) and in the Old Farmers Antique Club. We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Kathy. She will be greatly missed.
