Kenneth D. Nelson, age 63, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin passed away on February 12, 2013 after a short illness at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin with his family and special friends by his side.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, Wisconsin. Pastor Terri Skildum and Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Sunday at the Church.
Kenneth was born September 12, 1949 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Nels and Grenneth (Lake) Nelson.
He was raised on the family farm in Arkdale until his graduation from Adams-Friendship High School.
Kenneth had two children, Cynthia and Casey. His employment included various occupations primarily carpentry and construction work.
He had a passion for hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing he was playing pool. His life revolved around his close friends from the Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa area. During his illness this very special group of friends spent many hours with him. Through- out his travels in life he also made many close friends in Pennsylvania and Canada. Having so many friends is a tribute to his friendly and caring nature.

Sister: Catherine (Dennis) Rathermel of Friendship, Wisconsin
Daughter: Cynthia
Son: Casey
Five nieces and nephews: Tanya, Tammy, Justin, Tyler and Lance
Kenny was like a brother to me having hunted, fished and shot pool with him many times over the years. So many times I saw him out behind Johnny’s Bar cleaning fish with my brother Pete after a good day of fishing. He will be missed by many and fondly remembered.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We missed him at our last class reunion. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Ken was a really great person.
