Kenneth (Ken) Eugene Whiteside Succumbed to cancer on the evening of August 21st, 2024 in his home in Dexterville, Wisconsin. He was 74 years old.
Ken was born. December 6th, 1949 in Peru, IN to his parents, James and Betty Whiteside. He married Sharon R. Higgins on August 14, 1976. The Whiteside’s lived in the Rapids area for the majority of the next 48 years, with intermittent stops in Peru, IN.
Ken was an avid classic car enthusiast and worked as a mechanic on classic cars for most of his life. He passed on his knowledge to many of those who loved him best. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and was especially devoted during Sharon’s fight with cancer that ended in 2019. He rarely missed a chance to see his children or grandchildren in any of the various events they were a part of over the years.
Ken is survived by his son, Michael (Yuki) Whiteside, daughter, Tawnya (Jesse) Brockman; four grandchildren: Annalee and Jade Brockman and Sara and Koto Whiteside. He is also survived by his brother, James (Donna) Whiteside as well as nieces: Maxine Whiteside, Decindra Parker, and Desiree Mikel, and Deborah Galloway, and nephews: Brian and Chris Whiteside.
According to his wishes, a small memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 27th, at 1:00 p.m. at The Baker Street Wesleyan Church, 640 Baker St. Wisconsin Rapids, WI. The family wishes to send special thanks to Pastor Milt Van Natta for his compassion and care.
