Kerry G. Troxel, age 70, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home in Adams, Wisconsin.
Family will be gathering for services at a later date.
Kerry was the second child born to Floyd “Pete” Troxel and Frances (Hougland) Troxel in Wichita, KS on September 12, 1952. Kerry grew up in the La Harpe, Iola area. Graduating from Marmaton Valley High School in Moran, KS with the class of 1970 where he enjoyed being part of the debate club. On June 26, 1970, he married Donna (Wolf) Troxel in Gas City, KS. Together they had two sons, Chris Troxel (North Tonawanda, NY), and William “Bill” Troxel (Adams, WI), and one daughter, Melissa (Troxel) Albright (Coloma, WI).
Preceding him in death are his parents (Pete & Francie Troxel) and two brothers, Kelly Troxel & Michael “Pete” Troxel.
Survivors include a sister, Cindy (Troxel) Beckman of Carlyle, KS, a brother, Jim Troxel of Erie, KS., Donna-his wife of 54 years, Chris and Audrey Troxel, William Troxel, and Melissa and Frank Albright; six granddaughters, Jordan, Kessia, Shondra, Kyleigh, Ashlyn & Reagan, and one grandson Frankie Albright.
In the 70’s and early 80’s Kerry worked for the city of Iola, owned a tree service business, and drilled oil with his dad. In 1985, he moved his family to Newton, KS and started working at Pluswood where he retired as the assistant manager in 2014. In 2016, Kerry & Donna moved to Adams, WI to be near their children.
Kerry loved to fish, make music, and could play just about any stringed instrument he was handed. He taught himself computer software programming, a second language, and tackled any topic he found interesting. He was full of knowledge and humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
