Kim Diane Hill

Kim Diane (Russell) Hill, age 66, of Oxford, WI, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 14, due to complications of NAFLD.

Kim graduated in the class of 1976 from Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL, going on to work for the Illinois State Police for 10 years. She met her husband, Doug Hill, in Springfield, IL, in 1985. They were married later that year and soon moved to Wisconsin, where they lived for 38 years. She worked for the Wisconsin Heights School District, where her children attended, until 1999 when she began working for SSM Dean Health Plan until her retirement in 2020.

Kim was passionate about tending to her flower gardens, crocheting, and making jewelry. She loved Friday night fish fries, Saturday prime rib, and well-made cocktails; but most of all, sharing these with her husband, kids, and close friends. She also loved French fries, though she hated the pointy ones, which she shared with her dogs.

A beloved wife, mother, and friend, Kim will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family; kindness and generosity of spirit; and her generosity of sass, which she dispensed daily.

Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Susan Simpson; father, Wayne Russell; mother-in-law, Sharon (Jim) Hill; special aunt and uncle, Patsy and John Duffy; uncle-in-law, Windy Borrie; and grandmother, Hellen Tipps.

Kim is survived by her husband, Doug Hill; daughter, Jen (Matthew) Olesen; son, Jordan (Sarah) Hill; doggo, Kali Hill; sisters, Angie (Shannon) May and Chris Salzeider; cousins, Rick (Dee Dee) Duffy and Kelly (Charlie) Sinclair; aunt, Bonnie (Bill) Allen; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-cats.

Kim’s family would like to thank her kind and attentive medical teams at Aspirus – Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, SSM Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, and University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison; and give a special thank-you to the angels at SSM Hospice House in Baraboo, WI, whose loving care and openness brought great comfort to Kim and her family in her final days.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held in the spring.
