Leonard Otto Suhr

Leonard Otto Suhr, age 91, of Adams, Wisconsin died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. John Krebs will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Interment will be at the Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home & Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois at a later date.

Leonard was born February 27, 1928 in Oak Park, Illinois to Otto W. and Ernestine (Licht) Suhr. He graduated from St. John’s Grammar School in Forrest Park, IL and Proviso High School in 1945. Leonard then went to college where he studied accounting. He was a veteran of the Korean War – serving in the Army. He married Esther Grace Schroeppel on May 16, 1958 in River Forrest, IL. They made their home in Oak Park and Lombard, IL before moving to Adams in 1973 – where they owned and operated the Oak Crest Motel. Later, Leonard became a real estate agent for Scotty Realty, Belva Parr Realty, and retired with Coldwell Banker Realty.

Leonard was a man of many interests, he loved computers, built a television, rock polishing, making wine, photography, art, and reading.

Leonard was a member of Adams City Council for many years and the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be directed in Leonard’s memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents: Otto W. and Ernestine Suhr; and brother, Richard L. Suhr.
