Lillie M. Nelson, age 80, of Arkdale, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Arkdale Town Hall in Arkdale, Wisconsin.
Lillie was born June 22, 1935 in Adams County, Wisconsin to Darwin and Nina (Ramsey) McClyman.
She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School and always supported the Dell’s Chiefs.
Lillie married Clifford Gerald Nelson on September 24, 1954 at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.
She raised her children & worked on the family farm. Lillie was known as “grandma” to all the children who knew her.
She enjoyed chickens, gardening, flowers, bird watching, baking, and farming.
Lillie was a member of the Homemakers, the ladies aide, and was a Sunday School teacher at Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darwin & Nina McClyman; husband, Clifford Nelson and brother, Arnold McClyman.

I extend my sympathy to the Nelson family. Lillie was a special lady that will be missed. Many fond memories of square dancing and eating ice cream! God grant you peace.
I am so sorry the beautiful soul of such a loved lady has left. Aunt Lillie was always my favorite Aunt. I spent lots of time with her growing up and always had fun. Uncle Clifford will be so happy to see her. She has been a true inspiration to follow with her loving heart. Wishing all of you peace. Sad to hear the news, but I know she is in a better place, with Clifford. What a kindred spirit Lillie was. Always busy selling eggs, working elections at which she always brought homemade treats, for years she brought fair projects, meanwhile was also a wonderful volunteer. She gave alot, she was our Sunday school teacher and a very sweet friend. I will miss our visits, my sweet friend. I have so many memories of Lillie she will never be forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can remember, as a child, visiting the farm when I visited Uncle Ray Sr. who farmed just across the street. Excellent cook, so friendly to us. Many good memories.

My sincere deepest condolences to the entire family. We were thrilled to be able to visit with Lillie this summer at her home. My mother Carmen and my stepdad Stan Betancourt , my sister Betty McClyman (all from North Carolina) and Marie Brandt made the trip to see Lillie . We had a great time.
So sorry for your loss, one of my favorite memories are Easter at the farm oh my the eggs she would color and hide it was so much fun. She had so much love for everyone, she was truly a blessing to all who knew her..prayers for the family..
Darrell. I am so very sorry to hear of your grandma passing. She sure was a grand gal in her day. I have fond memories of visiting with her a few times. She is with Grandpa now in the glory and kingdom of our Lord tending their farm in heaven.

I’m so sorry to hear of Lillie’s death. She was a real farm wife. We got many a dressed chicken from her…I remember she put them in a cow tank when she knew we were coming over……I can still see Rudy and her fishing them out. Always such a friendly helpful lady. God bless the memories.

Cliff and Lil were wonderful neighbors, we used to go over for milk and eggs, used to have Darwin in cub scouts and watch Pam give her piggy a ride on her tar around the farm and the picnics with the snowmobiles, Hang on to those and other happy memories, they will help . love and prayers to the whole family.
I will always have wonderful memories of Lillie and so will my boys.They loved going over and visiting her.She filled them up with lots of goodies and she would go out with them and let them play with the animals.She loved every Halloween seeing them dressed up in their costumes we always had to make sure we stopped.She always had a kind heart and kind words.
