  2. Patti & Gary Buttner says:

We’re so sorry to hear about Marcella. I remember when working at Bob’s K-Market when she came in she was always smiling & up beat, you couldn’t help feel the same way after she left the store. It won’t be the same going to the post office & knowing she isn’t living there any move.

  3. Harry Davis says:

Marcella was a wonderful person. She was one of my paper customers when I, as an eighth grader, delivered the Milwaukee Sentinel. I always knew that I could stop at her house to get warm and have a brief and pleasant conversation. I cherish the memories.

  4. Lori Engle says:

My hugs, love and prayers with you all. Marcella was very special to me when I was growing up and later when I was grown with a family of my own we remained good friends. I remember many times sitting and visiting with her and my mom. She had a lot of compassion, empathy and drive and in my eyes seemed pretty much fearless of anything. She loved her family and friends with a loyalty that inspired and still inspires many. I will never, ever forget her kindness to me. God bless you all.

  5. Kathy Williams says:

Sue,Mike,Chuck,Steve & Family When I got your phone call telling me your Mom had died, Sue, the tears & hurt in your voice made my heart ache too. I know this past year was rough on Marcella, & thru it all she held strong. When I talked with her, she was in good spirits and always told me how Sue was her Angel, she loved you so much. She was one tough lady, a strong advocate for the Humane / Animal Shelter. I worked many years for Adams Co. Social Services, so I knew all the time & hard work Marcella put in when she was on the County Board, she was a great help when we had problems at Social Services. With her dignity, understanding & common sense, she would help clear up the trouble. She had my respect. God Bless you all during this difficult time.

  6. Pat & Lori Livingston, Sheldon & Deanna Mallard says:

We are sorry to hear of Marcella’s passing. We were her next door neighbors for 4 years and was always interested how are 10 children were doing and what they were up to. She was a kind and thoughtful person and Pat enjoyed discussing politics and government with her.

We pray the our Heavenly Father will comfort all of you at this time and that you will know that she is in his care now.

  7. Peggy (Joyce) Connell says:

To Charles, Sue and Steve: I am so sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. I know my Mother considered her a very good friend. They always seemed to have time to go shopping, eating out, discussing local politics and just being together. Many a time when I would come down to visit we would always have to go up to Carol’s to see what she had on sale and Marcella would always be there with a smile. Your mom and my mom are enjoying each other once again. May you find comfort in the coming days with your memories and your families close. RIP Marcella your warmth and kindness will be missed. May God Bless you and your families with His peace and comfort. Peggy (Joyce) Connell

  11. Kyle, Gweneth, and Jacob says:

I was so blessed to be able to have you as a grandmother! by watching you I have learned so many life lessons. That by being selfish I will most likely end up sad and alone. That you get so much more from doing for others. But most of all that your children are what its all about. No time is ever wasted with your children whether its playing with them,or just taking a nap. I will never forget all the time I spent with you, from making sugar cookies, all the holiday dinners, or tickling my back until I would fall asleep. I will miss your kind words and warm embraces but most of all the sound of your voice when I would walk in the door. You will always be in my heart and on my mind as I watch Jacob grow.

    I love you always Kyle

  23. Linda Haywood says:

    Chuck and Sue and Steve,
My heart goes out to each of you as I know your dad is also very ill. We loved to visit with Aunt Marcella after our annual dental visits in Adams back in the fifties. I remember that she welcomed us to your home with warmth. She had such energy and always had something sweet prepared for us. We loved her positive spirit. I regret that we didn’t get to see her at family events after the divorce. So sad. You are all so fortunate to have had your parents for such a long, long time. I know you will miss your mom and hope that you will remember all of the good that was her.
    Linda Parrott Haywood

  24. Mary Weichert says:

I was so very blessed to have met Marcella in the early 70s when Adams Co. Humane Society was first formed. For many years after, we shared many animal stories, jokes, tears, plans and hopes. She was so determined & helpful in getting an animal shelter built to help the animals & residents in our area. I loved going to her home and visiting with her and her cats and hearing about their recent antics and some grandchildren stories. She had a heart the size of Texas and cared for all. We still managed to run into one another now & then and talk about “the animals & good old days”. My sympathy & prayers to Marcella’s family as you remember the special times.

  25. Kristin (Moran) Hamilton says:

    My sweet Gramma Cella,

I write you one last time with a broken heart. To thank you for always being there for me and for loving me unconditionally. You were the most beautiful person inside and out. So full of style, grace and love. You always knew just what to say or how to make me feel better. I miss your giggle or how you used to dodge the camera as you hated to have your photo taken. There are so many wonderful memories I will cherish forever. From the sleep overs and all the treats you used to bake, to the time we shared together at the boutiques. You were an amazing role model and someone I will always admire. What I wouldn’t give to hug you one last time. I will selfishly miss your presence on this earth but take solace in knowing you are no longer sick or suffering. God has called you home and for now you will look over all of your loved ones til we all meet up again. I know when my time comes you will be there to greet me. Until then have fun with Mona, Betty and Aunt Evelyn. I love you deeper than any ocean and will NEVER forget you or the things you have done for me. May you rest in peace Gramma Cella

    Love always your granddaughter Kristin
