Marcia Dolores Bloomfield

Marcia Dolores Bloomfield, age 93, of Adams, WI died May 31, 2011 at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, WI.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Roseberrys Funeral Home followed by a short visitation on Monday at 1 p.m. and a Memorial Service beginning at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Friendship, WI. Pastor Robert Weiss will officiate. Interment will be at Dellwood Cemetery.

Marcia was born on February 20, 1918 in Camp Douglas, WI to Marshall and Mary (Mae Freeborn). She attended and graduated from Holmsville Elementary, Adams-Friendship High School, and Waushara County Teachers College. She began her teaching career at the age of 16 in Adams County.

Marcia was married to Harold William Bloomfield on June 20, 1939 in Nekoosa, WI. Throughout their marriage they owned and operated businesses in Beaver Dam, WI, Grand Marsh, WI and Marshall, WI. In addition, Marcia worked for Dane and Adams Counties as well as holding positions in the State and Federal Government in Madison. She retired semi-retired in 1980 and moved to Adams County in 1985 whereupon she began working in real estate for Century 21. She served on the County Board of Commissioners and volunteered at the Adams County Library. During this time she wrote a weekly nostalgia column for the Times-Reporter. Her hobbies were writing, bowling, and playing cards.

Memorials may be directed to the Friends of the Library at the Adams County Library.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Evelyn as well as her nephews Dana and Jon Ginter.

Survivors include sons, Lloyd Bloomfield, Adams; Jim (Catherine) Bloomfield, Maple Grove, MN; and daughters, Jeanne (Terry) Eichenseer, Hoffman Estates, IL; Rita Bloomfield, Madison; and Laurel Falash, Friendship. Grandsons include Mitchell Eichenseer, Tucson, AZ, and Chris Eichenseer, Chicago, IL, granddaughters, Jennifer David) Peterson; Julie (Adam) Werner, Ramsey, MN; Jill (Nick) Fadden, Otsego, MN; Audra Marquardt of Friendship, WI and Mikaila Falash of Friendship, WI. great-grandchildren, Brandon Werner and Ellis Eichenseer, Other family survivors include her niece, Karen (Bill) Miller.

    To all of Delores’s family: I have some great memories of Delores, Harold and even Josie. Delores was the chauffeur for Melba and myself and she was also a very good cook.     Lloyd, she was a wonderful lady. I came to work and her bed was empty. I was in shock but its for the best and shes not suffering anymore. I will remember her smiles that she would give me all the time. I will miss her deeply.
