Marion Eugene Coy, born on May 18, 1937, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2024, at the age of 87. A beloved father, husband, and friend, Marion is remembered by all who knew him for his strength of character, kind heart, and his notorious sense of humor. He had a unique gift for making those around him smile, often using his penchant for playful trickery to lighten the mood and bring joy into the lives of his family and friends. Marion married the love of his life, Dorothy, on December 26, 1959, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and commitment, spanning over six decades filled with shared memories, laughter, and joy. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and patriotism. Marion was a member of the VFW in North Freedom, Wisconsin. Marion was a jack of all trades and was always a hard worker beginning with Dairy Farming on the family farm, then working at Badger Ordnance, Rock Quarry, owning/operating The North Freedom Gas Station. Marion also worked at Grede Foundry where he retired. After retiring Marion helped Al Deering at North Freedom Repair. Marion enjoyed driving his golf cart to Seeley Lake, going to the park in North Freedom, driving his Chevy pickup truck, and driving his black Lincoln while throwing candy in parades. He was a trickster and loved to joke around. Marion is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Dorothy Coy, and his loving daughter, Cathy (Eric) Hansen, His 5 Grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Stevens, Samantha (Kyle) Pittman, Shawn (Courtney) Stevens, Danielle (LeRoy Schofell) Stevens, Maranda (Matt Cady) Herndon. His 12 Great Grandchildren, Kaiya & Maguire Stevens, Lillian & Delia Pittman, Savannah White, Kai Schofell, Remington, Makenzie and Charlotte Stevens, Logan & Corbin Herndon, Emma Cady. Sister Mary (John) Brown. Niece, Dawn (Tim), Nephew, Johnny (Lydia) He is preceded by his cherished daughter, Penny Coy, his sister, Millie Larson, Parents, Loren & Freda Coy and is now reunited with them. Though Marion has left his earthly life, his spirit and legacy continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In keeping with his family’s wishes, a memorial celebration of Marion’s life will be held at a later date. His family warmly invites all who knew him to come together to honor his memory and to reminisce on the special life he lived.
