Marjorie Jane Check, age 88, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Marjorie was born June 12, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Ann (Lloyd) Frankland. She worked as a dancer and had the privilege to perform with many show business greats including Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Marjorie married the late Gilbert Check in 1940 in Chicago, Illinois and went on to have 3 children. She later worked for Reuben-Donneley until retirement.
Marjorie happily filled her retired years with playing golf, gardening, creative cooking, painting, and pursuing arts and crafts. In her later years she lived with her son, Gib and his wife, Ruth in Cottonville. Here she continued to enjoy the company of family and friends amidst the natural beauty of Roche-A-Cri Lake. In February of 2005 Marjorie moved to Villa Pines Living Center, where the staff enjoyed her naturally upbeat spirit and her unfailingly great sense of humor.
What she cherished most in life was loving her family
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edward (during the D-Day invasion); and sister, Betty.
